Vendée Globe: the Everest of offshore racing
On the 10 November 2012, Dominique Wavre will cross the Vendée Globe start line on board Mirabaud to undertake one of the toughest events in the world: a single-handed race around the world, without stops and without outside assistance. In doing so he will race into the record books as this will be his 10th round the world race.
Every waking hour in the lead up to this race will be dedicated to preparing for it. Dominique has modified his race yacht and will check and double-check every aspect of it before the start. He will also try to get as much sailing practice as possible to perfect his boat-handling and boat-speed ahead of this ultimate offshore challenge.
